1. Media and Culture (MMC351)

A study of cultural principles that should guide the development of media productions, and how media can influence culture. Topics include discussions of social, religious, political propaganda, cultural sensitivity, the use of cultural idioms in communication, and media as an advocacy tool. Students will research specific cultural practices in media and analyze one or more strategies being used to influence culture for good

2. Writing for Media (MMC251)

Students learn multiple writing genres for media, including news articles, press releases, editorials, dramatic scripts/stories, documentary/educational narration, and social media posts. A good understanding of English is required.
