“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up” - Psalm 5:3
Begin each day with the Lord, experiencing Him a variety of ways! While reading the word and spending time in prayer are the two most common spiritual disciplines people practice, we encourage you to connect with God in a variety of ways that will create a vibrant relationship with God. From Monday to Friday all students come together for the morning devotions before classes begin. This is a great opportunity to practice leading and sharing skills while also growing in your relationship with God. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, your devotions will be led by student groups and you will have regular opportunities to lead and share during these times. Wednesdays are for personal reflection, and a staff member will lead this time. On Fridays, we take care of our surroundings and demonstrate our devotion to God through our actions. We work on a variety of projects on campus like gardening, campus maintenance, cleaning, etc.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6,7
Every evening, you and your dorm-mates get together to share with each other words of encouragement, give thanks and pray for each other. You are free to structure these times in a variety of ways. This helps you bond with the students that you live with as you share about your walk with God with each other.
"So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer." - Ezra 8:23
At LBC&S, we strongly believe in the power of prayer. We would like for you to enjoy time spent in praying, setting aside your physical needs, interceding for various reasons. We want to create a culture of seeking God with one's entire being in order to be effective vessels for God's work. Every week we fast and pray on Wednesdays.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." - Hebrews 10:24,25
Chapel happens once a week, and this is a great time for you to share how you have experienced God in your personal life or even what you have experienced as a community while at Lakeview. It is a wonderful opportunity to share your testimony, make use of your God-given talents to edify one another, to implement teachings and skills learned in classes and so much more. We encourage you to be as creative as you can in expressing your worship to God and in sharing the word.
You will also have the opportunity to meet and hear from a variety of guests from different walks of life, both from within India and from other countries as well.
